NY Daily News endorses Romney for president

NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Daily News, which endorsed Barack Obama for president four years ago, is endorsing Mitt Romney now, saying he's more likely to revive the economy.

The Daily News says middle- and working-class people "have been beset for too long by sapping economic decline." It said the typical American family saw $50,000 vanish from its net worth and its median household income drop by more than $87 a week.

The newspaper says in an editorial published Sunday that reviving the United States "as a land of opportunity and upward mobility is the central challenge facing the next president." It said the hopes raised by Obama in 2008 went unfulfilled.

Rival tabloid, the New York Post, has also endorsed Romney, saying Obama hasn't been able to fix the economy.
