Nurses on 24-hour strike at Quincy Medical Center

QUINCY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Nurses began a 24-hour strike Thursday morning at Quincy Medical Center.

More than 200 members of the Massachusetts Nurses Association formed a picket line at 6 a.m.

The Boston Globe says the nurses have been without a contract since October 2011.

Steward Health Care is the parent company of Quincy Medical Center. They say licensed replacement nurses will be brought in during the strike. They also deny claims of an unsafe work environment and inadequate staffing levels.
