Norwell man, 27, reportedly raped teenage victim he met online

WAREHAM (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A 27-year-old Norwell man was arrested early Tuesday morning for reportedly sexually assaulting a female he met on an online teen dating site.

The parents of the teenage victim reported the sexual assault to the Wareham Police Department on Nov. 7. They claimed their daughter had been sexually assaulted by a male that came to their home after meeting the teen online.

Detectives later learned that the teen met Palmer, who used a fake name and claimed to be 21-years-old, on mylol.net.

After having a conversation with Palmer online, the teen continued to speak with him on Skype. Palmer and the teen arranged to meet at the teen's home where a sexual encounter reportedly took place.

Detectives tracked computer usage and several websites which led them to Palmer.

Members of the Wareham Police Department executed a search warrant at 89 Stetson Road in Norwell around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday and arrested Palmer. Palmer resides at the address with his parents.

During the search, detectives seized several items of evidence pertaining to the sexual assault, including computer equipment and devices. The vehicle described as being used by Palmer was also parked at the residence.

Palmer was transported to the Wareham Police Department, and later transported to court for arraignment on one count of aggravated statutory rape of a child.

Palmer was arraigned Tuesday afternoon at the Wareham Fourth District Court.
