HAVERHILL, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Northern Essex Community College Tuesday closed its campuses for the rest of the day and evening after the college received a threat.
A note was posted just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday to the community college's Facebook page, announcing that one of the college's tenants received a threat.
Though there was no specification on the type of threat received or which tenant received the threat, the college closed immediately, "as a precautionary measure."
Northern Essex administrators alerted police, and "are working to resolve this issue," the statement read.
Classes Tuesday afternoon and evening were canceled, though the school announced it would be open Wednesday, unless students, faculty and staff received "further notification."
