ATTLEBORO, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A North Attleboro man is facing animal cruelty charges after throwing a knife at his girlfriend's dog.
Kyle A. Posey, 24, of North Attleboro, pleaded innocent Thursday in court to animal cruelty. A judge revoked his bail and he was held pending another, unrelated assault case, according to The Sun Chronicle.
The knife Posey threw hit a wall, and then hit the 5-month-old pit bull named Cooper. The puppy's side was cut and it took two staples to close the wound, the Sun Chronicle reported. Posey was upset that Cooper chewed carpeting in his apartment. His girlfriend took Cooper to an animal hospital immediately after the incident and told police that Posey stabbed Cooper. She later decided to drop the charges.
Assistant District Attorney Erin Aiello supported Posey's bail being revoked because he is out on bail on two cases. In one of those cases, he threw a brick through the window of an apartment in North Attleboro.
