EASTHAM, Mass. (AP) - Police say a four-vehicle crash on Cape Cod that sent nine people to the hospital started when a box truck struck a car pulling out of a side street.
One of the people hurt in the crash on Route 6 in Eastham at about 6:40 p.m. Tuesday had life-threatening injuries.
Police tell the Cape Cod Times on Wednesday a truck driven by Joseph Barboza of Wareham was driving south when it struck a car driven by Samantha Young of Eastham.
The momentum carried them into the northbound lanes where a station wagon driven by Barbara Wright, of Charlotte, N.C., and a minivan operated by Gary Saxton, of Conesus, N.Y., became involved.
Police did not release any other names and did not indicate who was the most seriously injured.
