MERRIMACK, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A New Hampshire woman is accused of lying to police after they say she made up a story about a home invasion.
Mary Watson, 42, of Merrimack, is charged with making a False Report to Law Enforcement.
Police responded to 62 Bates Road on June 30 for a report of a home invasion. Police said the caller, Mary Watson, reported three males entered her home through the basement and caused damage inside. While at the scene, detectives were able to piece evidence together that lead them to believe the report was false.
Police said Watson later admitted to making up the report of the home invasion and that she had caused the damage herself.
Watson was released on $1,500 personal recognizance. She is scheduled to be arraigned July 16 in the 9th Circuit Court, Merrimack Division.
