NH teens raise funds for Alzheimer's in memory of grandfather

HUDSON, N.H. — Two teenage brothers set up a hot cocoa stand in front of their home in Hudson, New Hampshire, to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association in honor of their late grandfather.

For the 10th straight year, Tyler Blanchette and his brother Brandon have decided to sell hot cocoa as a tribute to their grandfather Don Hindle Sr.

"My brother came up with the idea to have a hot chocolate stand to benefit Alzheimer's," said Tyler.

15-year-old Tyler says he continues to set up the stand because it's a cause that's very dear to him.

"I don't think there are any words that can say how proud I am of them both and he's got such a positive attitude," said Claudia Hindle, Tyler's grandmother.

Last year, the high school sophomore was diagnosed with a brain tumor, but that hasn't stopped him from pursuing his fundraising efforts.

Despite going through chemotherapy right now, Tyler says it won't stop him from pursuing the goals he has set for himself.

"I'm just fighting through what I got, and still doing what I love to help others that have the same thing that my great-grandfather had," said Tyler.

Over the past decade, the Blanchette's have raised nearly $26,000. On Sunday, they raised about $1,600.

"I have no doubt that his dreams are going to be met because he just perseveres, you know, he just doesn't give up," said Melissa Blanchette, Tyler's mother.
