NH police investigate early morning sexual assault

MANCHESTER, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Police in Manchester, N.H. are investigating a reported sexual assault that took place in the area of Maple and Laurel streets Tuesday.

The 32-year-old victim told investigators she was walking home from a relative's house just before 5 a.m. when she was approached by a man who asked her for a cigarette. She said the man then asked her a question indicating he thought she was a prostitute. When she explained that she was not a prostitute, the man grabbed her by her wrist, pulled her into an alley, threw her down on a set of steps, and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect, described as a thin black man who is about 5' to 5'4" tall, reportedly fled the area down the alley after the assault. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a dark blue or black zip up hooded sweatshirt with the words "Abercrombie and Fitch" written in white or yellow across it. He also spoke with an accent.
