NH police conduct investigation on Peirce Island

PEIRCE ISLAND, N.H. (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in New Hampshire are conducting an investigation on Peirce Island; however, authorities will not comment on the nature of the investigation.

The investigation is occurring while the FBI and New Hampshire State Police continue their search of the southeastern coastline for a missing University of New Hampshire student.

Elizabeth Marriott has not been seen or heard from since Tuesday night. She was supposed to meet up with friends that evening, but did not show. She also failed to show up for work on Wednesday which family and friends say is very out of character for the 19-year-old.

According to the town's website, Peirce Island is owned by the city of Portsmouth and is approximately 27 acres in size.
