NH men arrested for shooting incident in restaurant parking lot

HENNIKER, NH (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) Two New Hampshire men are facing charges after a Saturday morning altercation in a restaurant parking lot that reportedly led to gunshots being fired.

Henniker Police say one of their officers was parked across the street from the Gin Gin Restaurant when he heard gun fire. He soon heard a witness shouting "call the police he has a gun."

The officer claims he arrived to the scene to find 51-year-old Joseph Wilcox of Sutton kneeling down with a handgun beside him. Another man, 47-year-old Jeffrey Wigsten of Henniker, was hiding behind a car.

Investigators allege that Wigsten assaulted Wilcox while leaving the restaurant. Wilcox is accused of pulling out a gun and shooting it at Wigsten during the altercation.

Wilcox is charged with attempted aggravated assault. He is being held on $25,000 cash bail until his Monday morning arraignment.

Wigsten is charged with simple assault. He was released on $2,500 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on March 5.
