NH man accused of tickling children at park in Concord

CONCORD, NH (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A 35-year-old New Hampshire man is facing assault charges amid allegations that he tickled children at a park in Concord.

David Johnson is facing three counts of simple assault following his arrest Monday.

Investigators were called to the park located at the intersection of Perley and South streets on April 17 after a 9-year-old child arrived home from playing and told her mother that a man was tickling several children.

The mother told police she left her nearby apartment and yelled at the man, who police say was later identified as Johnson. She says that after she told him to leave the playground, Johnson walked behind a 5-year-old boy and tickled him.

The mother says she continued to yell at Johnson until he left the park.

Police say three children, ages 3, 5, and 7, were tickled by Johnson. The man is accused of lifting up their shirts and tickling their bare stomachs.

Investigators say none of the children involved were related to Johnson.

Johnson was arrested on a warrant Monday and released on $15,000 personal recognizance bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on May 20.
