NH man accused of killing woman, hiding body

NASHUA, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A 51-year-old New Hampshire man was arrested Tuesday amid accusations that he hid the body of a deceased woman inside her apartment for weeks.

Daniel Burke, of Nashua, is charged with manslaughter, two counts of falsifying evidence, and abuse of a corpse in the death of 32-year-old Christina Hill.

Investigators allege Burke pushed Hill into a cabinet, causing her to sustain fatal head injuries. They claim Burke wrapped her body in plastic and wiped up blood and other decomposition fluids with cleaning products and threw them out.

Hill was left in her apartment for an estimated two weeks before police were alerted to a suspicious smell in the building. She was found on July 20.

Burke was arraigned by video Wednesday in Nashua District Court. Bail was set at $50,000 cash.

In court, prosecutors detailed Burke's criminal history dating back to 1988, which includes offenses in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, as well as probation violations that occurred in 2009 and 2010 when Burke was in Florida.

Prosecutors said Burke's criminal history history includes simple assault charges, at least one of which was described as domestic violence related.

Burke is due in court on Sept. 23 for a probable cause hearing.
