NH gun store calls president 'salesman of the year'

MERRIMACK, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A New Hampshire gun shop owner says President Barack Obama, who has led the gun control charge in Washington, has really helped his bottom line.

Collectible Arms and Ammo's storefront on the Daniel Webster Highway juxtaposes the face of President Obama with Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin, and Mao Zedong. Beneath the president's photo are the words, "Firearms Salesman of the Year," and two guns.

Co-owner Keith Cox says sales have increased due to politicians calling for stricter gun regulation.

"With the response of our government after the tragedy in Connecticut and wanting to apply more gun control to our industry and of course that just drives people out to stock up on everything they can with the uncertainty of what they'll be able to buy in the future," Cox explains.

Cox tells the Union Leader that his store sign is a nonpartisan statement and that he was also not a fun of George W. Bush. He feels the government is determined to disarm citizens and that is why he placed the president's image beside Stalin, Hitler, and Mao.

Cox also says the store sign changes with the seasons and is always gun-themed.
