NH family welcomes quadruplets before Super Bowl

BOSTON — For one New Hampshire family, the Patriots’ fifth Super Bowl win will be memorable for an entirely different reason.

They went from a family of three to a family of seven, when mom gave birth to quadruplets Thursday night.

Corrie and Keith Cook discovered they were having four babies, they were shocked.

They were certain the doctor was wrong.

“I'm like, that's not possible. This has to be a joke. Did you count that one twice? Are you sure you're seeing four separate ones and not just two?” Corrie explained.

Corrie says when she finished laughing, she rode a rollercoaster of feelings.

“I went through all the emotions: fear, excitement. I just couldn't believe that it was true,” she said.

Corrie said that's still the case.

“Even though I can see them and feel them and touch them, I don't believe that they're really mine and there's really four,” she said.

There's Haley, Michael, Benjamin and Ellie. All of them were born on the Thursday. All weighed less than four pounds, arriving at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

It turns out, just like Tom Brady, the cooks have five little Lombardis. The four newborns are the siblings to big brother Alexander, age 3.

So how will the family of three transition to a family of seven?  Slowly, says mom.

“I'm just going to take it day by day,” Corrie said.

The little Cooks aren't ready to go home just yet. It will likely be about two months before their parents can bring them home.
