N.H. animal hospital worker arrested for stealing more than $30,000

GOFFSTOWN, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A woman who worked at the Glen Lake Animal Hospital in Goffstown, N.H. was arrested for stealing roughly $30,000 from the medical center, according to police.

Goffstown resident Melissa A. Huszarski, 31, was arrested Monday and held on $15,000 cash bail. She will be arraigned in court on Tuesday.

The investigation began in July, police said, when employees discovered missing cash and altered financial records. Some of Huszarski's duties included handling accounts receivable, as well as preparing daily bank records, according to the police.

Huszarski had worked at the animal hospital since 2007, and over the past few years, police estimate she stole more than $30,000 from the establishment.

Police also found that some of the hospital's medical records for individual pets had been tampered with, though there was no estimate of how many records had been affected.

An employee who did not want her name used said no pets have been put at risk.
