NEWTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A community meeting will be held Tuesday night in Newton to discuss a middle school teacher who was arrested on child porn charges.
Steven Chan was taken into custody last week after police discovered he had thousands of pornographic pictures on his home computer.
The math teacher posted bail after his arraignment on Friday and was ordered to wear an ankle monitor. He's currently on paid leave.
It's the second time in two years a Newton teacher has been arrested on child porn charges. Newton's superintendent sent a letter to parents saying the investigation does not involve any students.
The meeting for parents is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the F.A. Day Middle School auditorium.
