Newly released surveillance images appear to show Hernandez holding gun

ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Images taken on Aaron Hernandez's home surveillance system were released as part of a heavily redacted search warrant Thursday.

The images, which were previously mentioned by prosecutors in court, appear to show Hernandez carrying a gun inside his home.

Prosecutors mentioned the surveillance images in a bail hearing on June 27, one day after the former Patriots tight end was charged with first degree murder in the death of Odin Lloyd.

Investigators previously said Hernandez was seen on home surveillance returning to his home with two other men shortly after neighbors heard gunshots on June 17.

Prosecutors have said Hernandez was also caught on surveillance walking through his home with a handgun.

While the gun used in Odin Lloyd's murder has not been recovered, prosecutors claim the 27-year-old Boston resident was killed with a glock .45-caliber handgun.

The newly released 104-page warrant is also shedding light on initial statements both Hernandez and his fiance gave to investigators regarding the night of Lloyd's death. On the morning Lloyd's body was found, investigators visited Hernandez's North Attleborough home. They claim Hernandez became "argumentative" and asked, "What's with all the questions?"

When asked about Lloyd, Hernandez also reportedly told police he was "up his way yesterday." They say he "slammed" the door when police told him they were conducting a death investigation.

Hernandez's fiance, Shayanna Jenkins, told investigators she went out to dinner with Hernandez before he left their North Attleborough home with friends. Jenkins also said the couple bought the surveillance system because of "several recent break-ins at their residence."

The warrant also gave more details on evidence previously mentioned by prosecutors. Investigators claim in the search warrants that a shell casing found at the crime seen and one found inside a car rented under Hernandez's name were fired from the same gun.

Odin Lloyd was found dead on June 17 in a North Attleborough industrial area not far from Hernandez's home. The latest search warrant claims Lloyd was shot five times in the chest and back. Police allege Lloyd and Hernandez exchanged text messages prior to Lloyd's death. They also allege Hernandez and two other men, Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz, picked Lloyd up in Dorchester and drove him to North Attleborough.
