NH police searching for man who followed girl home after school

GOFFSTOWN, N.H. – Police in Goffstown are searching for a man they say followed a girl home from the school bus stop Monday afternoon.

The man apparently followed the 11-year-old to her grandparents home on Warren Avenue just before 4 p.m. and parked in the driveway.

When he tried to enter the home, he was confronted by Zack Lacer, the girl's uncle, and said he was looking for a man named Victor.

"He definitely wasn't expecting me to be at the door," Lacer said. “I saw him, asked him what he was doing, he just kind of stared at me with a blank face then he asked me if Victor was here.  I said there was no Victor here.”

While inside the home, the suspect was also bitten by a dog.

Police said the suspect left driving a small white SUV, possible a Jeep Cherokee, with Massachusetts license plates.

“These are unusual for us.  They don't normally happen,” Goffstown Police Sgt. Geoffrey Pinard said. “We’re still trying to identify the suspect in this case to figure out what happen. It could be a mistaken address. We’re hoping that's what the outcome is if it’s something different we will deal with that at that time.”

Lacer said whatever the man's intentions were, he shouldn't have followed the young girl.

"She's doing good. She didn't really fully understand the severity of what happened until we all talked to her later on," he said.
