New Englanders excluded from AFC Championship ticket sales

DENVER, Colo. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Tickets for the AFC Championship between the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots go on sale Monday, but many Patriots fans will have a hard time getting their hands on them.

The tickets were expected to go on sale on Ticketmaster at 12 p.m. EST, but only to those in a certain region of the country. They were available only to those with a valid billing address in the Rocky Mountain region, which includes Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Utah, Nebraska, Montana, South Dakota and Kansas.

A warning on Ticketmaster told fans that orders by residents outside of those states will be canceled without notice and refunds will be given.

According to the Seattle Times, the Seahawks are also limiting their ticket sales for the NFC Championship to residents of Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Alaska, Hawaii, and two Canadian provinces.

Those looking for tickets outside of the selected areas will have to resort to the secondary market.
