New Bedford nightclub shut after 7 injured in shootings

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP / MyFoxBoston.com ) - A New Bedford nightclub has been ordered shut after seven people were shot outside the building.

None of the injuries in the Saturday morning shootings outside Jalice Café on Acushnet Avenue, were life-threatening.

Police say two victims were shot, one in the elbow and one in the lower leg. Officers later learned that five others had gone to a local hospital on their own, each suffering from injuries to their lower legs.

Police say the shootings began as a fight when a patron of the nightclub may have become angry when he found a drink on his vehicle and knocked it off, causing it to hit someone else.
