• Nashua man killed in hit-and-run Sunday night

NASHUA, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man was killed Sunday night in Nashua after he was hit by a car, according to police.

At around 7:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a man lying on the side of the road, unresponsive near West Hollis and Pine streets. The man, 63-year-old Robert Derome, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua where he was pronounced dead.

On Monday, the New Hampshire state medical examiner's office performed an autopsy and determined that Derome suffered serious injuries to his head and pelvis, which were caused by a car hitting him.

The car, police said, did not stop after hitting Derome, and the car's driver has not come forward.

Nashua detectives are looking to speak with anyone who was traveling in the area of West Hollis Street between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday night. Detectives can be reached at 603-594-3500.
