Nashua man apparently commits suicide after double shooting

NASHUA, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Nashua, N.H. man apparently committed suicide after a double shooting Friday.

At about 4:14 p.m., shots were fired at the intersection of Amherst and Merrimack Streets. Upon arrival, police found a man and woman on the ground in front of 16 Merrimack St. Both were shot several times and transported to the hospital, officials say.

The man was identified as Andres Garcia, 35, of Hudson,N.H. He passed away at about 2 a.m. Saturday. The woman was identified as Mireily Rodriguez-Torres, 32, of Nashua, N.H. She is expected to survive, officials say.

After the incident, police found information about a possible suspect and tentatively identified him as Carlos Alago-Collazo, 34, of Nashua, N.H. He was involved in a long term relationship with Rodriguez-Torres and the couple had two children.

At about 8:40 p.m. Friday, a man believed to be Alago-Collazo was located using cell phone information. He was found in a car parked outside of 626 Essex St. in Lawrence and had apparently committed suicide, officials say.

The Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will be conducting autopsies on Garcia and Alago-Collazo.

The investigation remains ongoing.
