BOSTON - Police in Peabody are investigating after a man and woman were found dead in a basement.
Police called the crime scene on Farm Avenue "messy and cluttered", making it difficult to process. Police had to use a special X-ray machine to figure out how many victims there were.
The two victims were identified Monday morning as 37-year-old Mark Greenlaw and 39-year-old Jennifer O'Connor. According to investigators, Greenlaw and O'Connor were in a dating relationship and living together at 19 Farm Avenue, where their bodies were found.
Police were first called to the scene late Saturday night, when a woman staying at the home ran out and flagged down a passing driver for help. The woman was taken to the State Police barracks in Danvers, where she told officers that there had been a crime in the home.
Peabody's police chief said his officers are familiar with the address.
"We have been here a number of different times for all kinds of incidents," said Chief Thomas Griffin.
