Nearly a dozen cars damaged in Lowell vandalism spree

LOWELL, Mass. — Surveillance video out of Lowell shows a man suspected in a vandalism spree smashing the windows of nearly a dozen cars in the area.

Around eight to ten cars were damaged, but the residents of residents of Huntington Street say nothing was stolen from inside the vehicles.

“They probably thought it was fun, had a couple of beers, who knows,” victim John Gajen said.

Surveillance video from one home shows the suspect grab a rock, smash the windshield of an SUV, then run away.

"These kids need to get a life," victim Carol Regan said. “There was some kid in the neighborhood that was tripping and just went around the neighborhood and smashed all kinds of windshields.”

Regan said she noticed the damage after returning from bingo around 10 p.m., it was serious enough that she was unable to drive to her doctor's appointments Wednesday morning.
