MSP trooper charged with OUI set to be arraigned

A Massachusetts State Trooper arrested for OUI is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Alfred Burgos was arrested last month on his way home from the Irish American Police Officers Association's awards dinner in Malden.

Burgos had just received the prestigious Medal of Valor for being on the front lines during the gun battle with armed suspects in Roslindale in October 2016.

His arraignment was delayed until now while he was evaluated for the Valor Act Diversion program. The program allows judges to direct veterans with no prior convictions to treatment programs.
