US Rep Moulton: Assault rifles 'have no place on America's streets'

WASHINGTON - Democratic Congressman Seth Moulton is weighing in on gun control.

Moulton posted a photo on his social media accounts from his days in the military carrying an assault rifle. He went on to say that he is familiar with the guns and that they have no place on America's streets.

Moulton also tweeted that he's done with the tradition of sending "thoughts and prayers" first rather than demanding policy changes.

He says moments of silence underscore the Republicans' "cowardly silence on even voting on gun reform."

Moulton is a former Marine Corps officer and served in Iraq.
