Mother scours Boston for missing man last seen at Celtics game

BOSTON — A 23-year-old man is the subject of a missing person investigation after he went the Celtics game Wednesday night and never came home.

Michael Kelleher was last seen at the game and reportedly hasn’t used his cell phone or credit cards in the days since.

His mother, Lori, spent Friday going to hospitals and shelters searching for her son. She reported him missing to Southborough Police and the department has launched an investigation.

“They always say you never think it’ll happen to you, but here we are. I can’t even fathom,” Lori told FOX25. “I don’t know how much longer I can stay here because I feel like I’m going to pass out.”

Kelleher lives at home with his mother and two sisters and his co-worker drove them to the game Wednesday night. She says Kelleher was drinking that night and left in the third quarter, but never showed up at her car after the game.

His co-worker called and texted him, but he stopped responding.

Lori’s mother told FOX25 his cell phone last pinged on Tremont Street near the Boston Common, but it hasn’t been found.

According to a report sent to FOX25, Michael was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, khaki pants and black sneakers.

Kelleher has a Celtics tattoo on his right forearm and the Boston skyline on his left forearm.
