More bad news for convicted charity founder

FOX UNDERCOVER - There's more trouble for the former president of the Cape Cod charity Touched by Angels.

Gina Clark is locked up at the women's prison in Framingham, serving a 4 to 5-year sentence. Now a judge has delivered more bad news to Clark, ordering her to pay nearly $150,000 in restitution to her victims.

The decision came after a two-day hearing in Barnstable Superior Court.

Clark's charity raised money for families facing hard times. Some of them turned to Touched by Angles for help with funeral expenses after their children died.

However, the families said they only received a small fraction of the money peopled donated.

A jury convicted Clark of dozens of charges in May, including larceny and fraud.

Clark will not have to start paying the victims until she gets out of prison.

Attorney General Martha Coakley's office prosecuted Clark.

"This defendant victimized vulnerable families who sought her help by taking advantage of truly traumatic circumstances," said Coakley. "While no amount of money can fully compensate families who have suffered so much, this restitution is an important step in our effort to seek justice and bring some additional measure of relief to victims."
