ARLINGTON, Mass. — People in Arlington have been dealing with break-ins for months now, and despite an arrest in a neighboring town - police say there are no signs the thefts will let up.
Police say they noticed an uptick in reports of break-ins beginning in August, and that's continued ever since.
This past Friday, 5 homes were broken into. In all, police say they've received 29 reports since this summer.

Police are now asking for the public’s help catching the suspects who enter through locked and unlocked windows to go after jewelry, electronics and cash.

"It's spooky ... every time you hear a noise now, you don't assume it's the house settling or the furnace coming in," said Jane Auger - one of the burglary victims. "You're just a little on edge."

Police have no good description and no surveillance video, but say the incidents have taken place in the evening up until 10 p.m. while no one is home. They said no one has been home during these incidents, and the suspects have broken in through both locked and unlocked windows.
Now police are reminding residents to lock their doors and windows, and make sure not to hide spare keys in accessible places. Police also advise setting lights on a timer so it appears as if someone is home.
