Mom and dad allegedly sold crack cocaine, heroin out of home

STOUGHTON, Mass. — A mother and father in Stoughton are accused of selling crack cocaine and heroin out of their home, with their two small children living right down the hall.

Jacqueline Omara and Edwin Saladin were busted Tuesday after a several months long investigation by the DEA. According to court documents, investigators found 25 grams of crack cocaine, 33 grams of cocaine and 13 grams of heroin in their Elderwood Drive house and car. They also found a slew of drug paraphernalia, including scales, rubber gloves and plastic baggies.

Investigators say their kids, a 1.5-year-old and a 2-month-old, are now with their grandmother.

According to prosecutors, Saladin served probation in 2011 for armed robbery and possessing a sawed-off shotgun. The 27-year-old seemed to have had a bright future. He was featured in a Boston Globe article back in 2008 for a sports documentary he made when he was only 18-years-old. The Patriot Ledger included him on its 2009 all-scholastic team. He briefly played basketball at Elms College.

“I know him from basketball. He's actually a really good basketball player,” said Larry Wilcox, who knows Saladin’s family.

Omara's bail, which she posted Wednesday afternoon, was set at $2,500. Saladin's was set at $25,000.

Both parents are due back in court July 25.
