PROVIDENCE, R.I. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Two missing Mass. teens, one of whom was discovered stripping at a Providence strip club, were found alongside a man who has been previously convicted of running a teen prostitution ring, reports the Providence Journal.
Investigators tell the newspaper a 15-year-old Boston girl was accompanied by 51-year-old Troy Footman when she was stripping inside Cheaters on Allens Avenue Monday night. They say undercover detectives were approached by another teenage girl and offered sex while inside the club.
Footman was arrested as he exited the strip club. While he was being arrested, investigators searched a motor lodge in Seekonk where the 51-year-old was reportedly staying. They found a missing 15-year-old Brockton girl inside his room.
The 51-year-old was arraigned Tuesday and held on $150,000 bail on sex trafficking charges. Footman is a registered sex offender who was previously convicted of running a prostitution ring with underage girls in multiple locations.
Cheaters management told police that the Boston teen found stripping at their club furnished a driver's license from Delaware and a college ID to prove she was over 21.
A loophole allowing teens to strip in Providence became a great topic of concern for city leaders in recent years after an underage runaway from Mass. told investigators she had been stripping at Cheaters. It is now illegal for a minor to work in a strip club.
