BRAINTREE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Milton man won $10 million on Valentine's Day.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery Facebook page, Eric William Cherry purchased the $20 "Billion Dollar Bonanza" ticket at the Tedeschi store on Houston Avenue in Milton. The store will receive a $50,000 commission on the sale.
Cherry, who works as a fireman at a power plant, will receive the $10 million grand prize in annual payments of $500,000, less taxes, over 20 years. Cherry said he plans to take his family on a trip to Aruba to celebrate the win.
Cherry is the seventh person to win a $10 million prize playing "Billion Dollar Bonanza." There are three more $10 million prizes and 56 $1 million prizes remaining in the game.
