Mike's Pastry founder Michael Mercogliano passes away at 90

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – The man behind arguably the finest cannolis in the North End, and possibly Boston, has passed away.

Mike's Pastry announced on their Facebook page on Tuesday that Michael Mercogliano, who established the bakery in 1946, had died.

"It is with the deepest sadness and sorrow that we announce the death of the grandfather, father, husband - the Owner of Mikes Pastry - Mr.Michael Mercogliano. We will love and miss you everyday!!!!"

Mercogliano was 90 years old.
