Micky Ward discusses childhood abuse on Fox & Friends

Local boxing great Micky Ward appeared on Fox & Friends on Tuesday to discuss his autobiography, "A Warrior's Heart: The True Story of Life Before and Beyond The Fighter."

During his interview with FOX's Brian Kilmeade, Ward says the book gave him an outlet for something that ate at him for years. As a child, the Lowell boxer was abused. He says he hopes his story can help others to also open up about their experiences.

The Lowell Sun reports that Ward told them in a later interview that a family friend sexually abused him "a few times."
