Memorial for slain teen removed in Southie, replaced with sign

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) Family and friends of a teenager who was killed this week are outraged after learning someone removed a memorial they created for him.

Jonathan Reyes was shot execution style on Monday at the corner of West 2nd and E streets in South Boston.

Family and friends left candles and stuffed animals near the building where the 18-year-old was found, but the Boston Herald reports that someone removed the memorial by mid-week.

The memorial was replaced by a sign reading, "This neighborhood does not respect drug dealers. Go home!!!"

Police have not said whether Reyes' killing was drug-related and no suspects have been named in the shooting.
