Medway mom dies after being hit by alleged drunk driver

A Medway mother has died from the injuries she sustained after she was hit by a suspected drunk driver more than one month ago.

Andrea Bosworth, a single mother of three and a school teacher, pulled over on I-95 in Providence on October 22 when her passenger started feeling sick. Bosworth and a friend were standing outside of the passenger door when 30-year-old Yiranis Liz lost control of her car and slammed into Bosworth.

Bosworth was taken to the hospital in critical condition. On Thanksgiving, her family posted on the GoFundMe page that Andrea passed away.

Rhode Island State Police say they’re working with the Attorney General’s Office to upgrade the charges against Liz.

Bosworth's family says they now plan on using the GoFundMe for college funds for Andrea's three young children. If you would like to donate, click here.
