MCAS tests postponed ahead of winter storm

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- MCAS ELA composition tests that were scheduled for Tuesday have been postponed.

Students in grades 4, 7 and 10 were scheduled to take the tests on March 19 but Mass. Board of Education officials decided to postpone them because of a winter storm expected to hit Massachusetts. (Click here for more on the storm.)

"We realize that this change may be disruptive for some schools, but for security reasons it is critical that all schools administer the ELA Composition on the same day," said the state board of education in a statement.

Schools that are unaffected by the storm must also wait to administer the test.

The tests are now scheduled for Monday, March 25.
