BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A turtle was found far from home on Wednesday evening by a conductor doing a sweep of a Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad car.
The turtle was found in a carrier on one of the train's seats after passengers had arrived at South Station around 5:30 p.m., reports The Boston Globe.
At first, MBCR officials thought the turtle had been abandoned; however, no one came to claim the red-eared slider.
Officials are now attempting to find the turtle a safe home.
Anyone with information regarding the turtle or suggestions for a safe home is asked to call the MBCR at 617-222-8119.
