Massport names new maritime port director

BOSTON (AP) — The Port of Boston has a new director.

Massachusetts Port Authority CEO Thomas Glynn on Thursday named Deborah Hadden to oversee operations at the agency's non-aviation properties.

In the role, Hadden will be responsible for directing the planning, development, marketing, operation, security, financial management, administration, and maintenance of the port.

Hadden had been acting director since last October.

During that time she implemented productivity gains at Conley Terminal, as part of successful negotiations with the International Longshoreman's Association in a local contract. She also led successful negotiations with MSC, Conley's busiest steamship line, and secured a new six-year agreement with Cosco.

Hadden says she's excited about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

Hadden has worked at Massport since 1995.
