Massport facing lawsuit from owners of WTC

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Massport could be facing a multi-billion dollar lawsuit filed by the owners of the former Twin Towers.

The owners accuse the agency of having "abysmal security" at Logan Airport on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, according to the Boston Herald.

Al Qaeda terrorists hijacked two fights out of Logan, flights 11 and 175, both of which hit the World Trade Center.

A judge has already ruled the Twin Towers property owners can seek $2.8 billion in damages.

World Trade Center lawyers argue the destruction could have been prevented if Logan had stronger security measures. Massport had no comment on the suit.

No court date has been set.
