(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A Massachusetts State Police trooper indicted last week on indecent assault and battery charges, as well as open and gross lewdness charges, was suspended without pay on Monday.
Jason Willard, 38, was suspended indefinitely following his status hearing which took place at state police headquarters.
State Police Internal Affairs will continue to monitor the criminal proceedings and will conduct its own internal investigation into Willard's conduct.
The charges stem from an offense Willard committed approximately four years ago against a female victim who was about 18-years-old at the time. The alleged offenses occurred while Willard was off-duty.
Willard joined the department in 2002 and was stationed at the barracks in Sturbridge.
Willard is to be arraigned Sept. 21 in Worcester Superior Court.
