Mass. trio arrested in NH hammer, knife attack

HOLLIS, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A woman and two men from Lowell were arrested in connection with a break-in and assault in Hollis, New Hampshire.

Hollis police said a man living on Mooar Hill Road called 911 early Friday morning as the break-in was happening.

When the three got into the home, police said the man was attacked with multiple weapons, including a knife and a hammer. He was able to escape and ran to a neighbor's house where he called 911 again.

The woman was arrested at the scene and the men were arrested a short time later.

The man told police that the men identified themselves as police officers and the woman attacked him with the weapons.

The woman, identified as 57-year-old Cynthia Nagele, of Lowell, was charged with first-degree assault and burglary.

Also arrested were 53-year-old Ralph Doucette, of Lowell, and Paul Carbonneau, 43, of Lowell. Doucette and Carbonneau were charged with burglary, simple assault and impersonating a police officer.

Bail was set at $25,000 for Nagele and $15,000 for Carbonneau and Doucette.
