Mass. police departments warn of possible phone scam

(MyFoxBoston.com) – Several police departments throughout Massachusetts are warning residents to beware of a possible phone scam.

According to reports, residents have been receiving phone calls requesting donations for various police departments; however, at least two departments, Dudley and Yarmouth, say there are no active fundraising efforts taking place at this time.

Both the Dudley and Yarmouth police departments say they do not support any type of fundraising through telemarketing and ask anyone who has received calls of this nature to report them.

Residents can also contact Massachusetts State Police regarding this matter at 508-820-2300.
