Mass. police: 5-year-old, dad hurt in shooting

HOLYOKE, Mass. (AP) - Holyoke police say a 5-year-old boy has been shot in the knee and his 26-year-old father also was shot and wounded near a public housing complex.

Police Lt. Matthew Moriarty said police are looking for whoever fired the shots just at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday on near the corner of Lyman and North Summer streets near the Toepfert housing development.

A nearby resident, 23-year-old Kevin Rodriquez, tells the Springfield Republican (http://bit.ly/W6jEcI) he was sitting in his car when he heard four equally spaced gunshots and saw a green, four-door Honda Civic racing away.

The father and son, whose names weren't released, are expected to recover.
