Mass man to be arraigned in death of elderly woman

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. (AP) - A 41-year-old North Adams man will be arraigned on a murder charge in the death of an elderly woman found slain in her home.

Berkshire District Attorney David Capeless says David Delratez is to appear Monday in District Court in North Adams on murder and car theft charges in the death of 84-year-old Ellen DePaoli.

Delratez was charged Friday night and is being held without bail. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.

DePaoli was found dead in her North Adams home Tuesday night. Authorities haven't released a cause of death.

Delratez was arrested Thursday in Bennington, Vt., driving DePaoli's car. He appeared in court there Friday on a Massachusetts fugitive warrant and agreed to come back to Massachusetts. He was formally charged with DePaoli's slaying on his return.
