Mass Gov. hopes service will comfort victims

BOSTON (AP) - Gov. Deval Patrick says he hopes the survivors of the Boston Marathon bombings and their families will draw comfort from a healing service in the city.

In an interview Thursday with The Associated Press, Patrick called the interfaith service at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross an expression of confidence that Boston will recover from the tragedy.

Patrick was scheduled to speak at the service and introduce President Barack Obama, who is attending along with first lady Michelle Obama.

The governor said he was very confident in security arrangements.

Patrick declined comment on the ongoing investigation, other than to say he believed it was moving in the "right direction." He added there's been great response from citizens to the FBI's request for photographs or videotape of the marathon scene.
