Marshfield Harbor Master captures storm rescue on his cell phone

MARSHFIELD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A high tide put the Town of Marshfield in a state of chaos Friday morning.

Water spilled into the streets to levels some residents had never seen before.

"I would compare this with the no name and the storm of '78," one resident told FOX 25's Nicole Jacobs.

Harbor Master Mike Dimeo captured the hysteria, including a heroic rescue of a mail carrier, on his cell phone.

The contracted mail carrier was in need of help after he and his box truck became stuck. The waves were crashing over the seawall and there was nowhere to go.

Emergency crews, including the National Guard, pulled the mail carrier to safety.

Other residents are assessing the damage and deciding whether or not it is too dangerous to stay, especially with another high tide looming in the distance.
