Mark Wahlberg, Rob Gronkowski to teach Emerson's Social Media Class?

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Emerson's Social Media Class is reaching out to Boston-native turned movie star Mark Wahlberg and Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski on Twitter in hopes of convincing at least one of the two superstars to come in and teach a class.

Professor David Gerzof told BostonInno that his students began the tradition last October and were able to get then-Patriots player Chad Ochocinco to not only teach a class, but to sit down for lunch at the All Star Sandwich Bar in Cambridge.

The following semester his students reached out to Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling. Schilling did respond to one of the tweets; however, he did not make an appearance in the classroom.

The students are seven days into the project and have come up with some pretty catchy hashtags, including #MarkyMarketing and #spikeourprof.
