Marblehead teacher faces child porn charges

MARBLEHEAD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Marblehead High School teacher was arraigned on child porn charges Thursday.

Wicked Local Marblehead reports 30-year-old William Morgan has been barred from the high school and cannot have any contact with students following his arrest.

Morgan, a physics teacher, was one of 11 men arrested in Rhode Island for possessing or transferring child pornography.

Marblehead school officials assured parents Morgan's alleged crimes do not involve any students.

Rhode Island Police released a list of the 11 arrests Thursday:

1. Daniel MacDuff, age 19, Providence
2. Robert Greenwood, age 40, Providence
3. Jason Martins, age 30, East Providence
4. Michael McDonald, age 66, Portsmouth
5. Eduardo Guzman, age 19, Providence
6. William Morgan, age 30, Marblehead, Massachusetts
7. Donald Moore, age 65, Warwick
8. Scott Samford, age 35, East Greenwich
9. William Simcock, age 19, Richmond
10. Steven Mann, age 25, Coventry
11. Gregory Rickenbacher, age 28, Providence
 
Investigators say three other suspects were also employed in fields that could put them in direct contact with children. Samford is a school bus monitor in East Greenwich, Rickenbacher is a University of New England medical student who worked at Kent Hospital in Warwick, and Mann is a member of the Rhode Island National Guard's 88th Army Band.

All suspects, with the exception of Greenwood, were released on personal recognizance. Greenwood was held on $5,000 for violating bail on prior charges of second degree child abuse, assault on an impaired person, simple assault and disorderly conduct.
